Abtenau has a few ski slopes that offer perfect skiing conditions, especially for beginners and children. No long descents, no crowded slopes, and above all, no difficult descents. If you are an advanced skier looking for more of a challenge, you will find it in the Dachstein-West ski area, just a 10-minute drive from Haus Tanne. Dachstein-West offers wonderful skiing tours, including the ‘Panaronda’. This is a 44 km long ski route through the entire area from Annaberg to Russbach and Gosau. If you are looking for even more variety, you can also ski in six other ski areas with the Dachstein-West ski pass. Dachstein-West has a total of around 160 km of slopes.

For cross-country skiers, there are also many trails around Abtenau. There are trails for beginner cross-country skiers, but also full-day trips that show you the Abtenau area from a different perspective.

For a mixed group that wants to experience all aspects of winter sports together, I suggest you drive to the Postalm. Here you can go alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, tubing, snowshoeing, or enjoy watching others have fun while sipping a cup of hot chocolate.
